It has been almost 2 years since we released a vintage of Primitivo. Starting with vintage 2018 our Primitivo has been all estate-grown, and I’m still learning my way around this new fruit. It definitely requires a bit more time in barrel than the Primitivo I sourced from south Nevada County. Blackberry on the nose (very Zin-like in the nose…typical of my Primitivo), just a kiss of cocoa in the mid-palate, finishing with very complex, playful fruity-spicy finish. This is a very interesting, intricate wine. 130 cases produced. Silver Medal ~ 2023 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
