While I consider Sangiovese to be my “flagship” wine, our Aglianico is what we are becoming best known for. Dark plum on the nose (unusual for our Aglianico, it usually is more cranberry-ish), along with some light baking spice. The mid-palate is just a touch earthy with…it feels like a hint of olives. The finish is just dry enough to balance the front end. Much more approachable now than our 2018 Aglianico is. 130 cases produced (which, by the way equates to about 5 barrels) This wine was reviewed by Tom Hyland in Forbes Magazine in April, 2023. His notes, "Aromas of spiced morel cherry, mace and orange peel. Medium-full, this offers impressive ripeness, notable harmony, medium-full, elegant tannins and a finish of good persistence. It is a well-made wine that would be best paired with grilled poultry and lighter red meats over the next 2-5 years."
