While I consider Sangiovese to be my “flagship” wine, our Aglianico is what we are becoming best known for. A hint of strawberry on the nose (unusual for our Aglianico, it usually is more cranberry-ish), along with some light baking spice. The mid-palate is just a touch earthy, typical for our Aglianico, with a finish that is just dry enough to balance the front end. This is one of more angular Aglianico’s I’ve ever made, definitely built for ageing. If you are going to open it within the next year or two, I definitely recommend decanting for at least a few hours first.
