Aglianico Wine Information
A well-textured wine that has maintained a very light, playful cranberry nose. Noticeable, well-integrated tannins make this a fine wine with any meal, especially well-seasoned white meat (chicken or pork). While somewhat obscure in California, Aglianico is widely grown in the Basilicata region of Italy. Aglianico was considered to have been the best wine produced during the Roman Empire. A Gold Medal at the 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition indicates it is a pretty good wine in modern day California as well.
