2007 Pinot Grigio
Sourced from the Jackrabbit Vineyard, the only organically farmed Pinot Grigio vineyard in the North Sierra Foothills. These twelve year old vines produce some exceptional fruit. The vineyard is located in the North San Juan region of Nevada County, at 3,200 feet elevation. Up here yields are naturally limited by perennial late frosts, combined with the bears getting their fair share before letting us harvest.
Our 2007 vintage was harvested on 8 September 2007, with a brix of 26.2 and a pH of 3.77
We barrel ferment and allow malolactic fermentation in 20% of the grapes, giving this wine a slightly darker color than typical California PG's, and considerably more "gravitas". It is nonetheless a delightful wine, with lots of melon in the nose.
