Ba-ba-ba...Ba-ba-Barbera Release Party!

March 28, 2:00 - 4:00PM

Wow, is this one rich, fruit-forward wine!

What: 2007 MV&W Barbera Release Party
Where: MV&W 15629 Mt Olive Rd, Chicago Park
When: 2-4pm, Sunday, March 28th
Anything Else? As always, we'll be serving up some perfectly matched food, pulling barrel samples of the '08 Barbera and for the first time on the Montoliva Music Stage we are presenting the soulful sounds of Quinn Hedges.

As most of you know, here at Montoliva Vineyard & Winery, we specialize in Italian varietal, Olde World styled wines. Our wines tend to be much more subtle on the nose and initial flavors than typical California red wines. Our winery practices generally follow those used in Tuscan and Southern Italian wineries, especially when we are working with Sangiovese, Aglianico, Syrah and Cabernet grapes. However, Barbera is not grown in central or southern Italy. In Italy, Barbera is grown primarily in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy. Their enological practices differ from the Tuscans, and you know the saying, "when in Rome..." So, we didn't use the same wine yeast strain that we usually use, didn't employ extended macerations, we did try to incorporate a bit more oak. End result? Everyone who has tried our newest wine proclaim it one of the best Barberas they have ever tasted. We only made 75 cases of this magnificent wine, so it won't last long. Be here when it is released!
